A 2nd installment: shots from around Israel

Again, here's a snapshots of my experiences with people and places here over the past few months...

An almond blossom with a pollinating visitor. Near Sataf overlook, just west of Jerusalem

Kalaniot flowers (Anemones) on Tel Bet Shemesh in early February
 ------------**********------------**********------------

Inside Jerusalem city hall for a Tu B'shvat celebration of the city's community gardens.

On a hike near Ein Karem, Jerusalem with my sister Elana!

 ------------**********------------**********------------

Soldiers heading home at the end of the day. Riding the bus towards Tel Aviv during rush hour on a weekday is quite an experience. There are thousands of soldiers rushing to be the first one on :)

 ------------**********------------**********------------

A full moon over Haifa, Israel

 ------------**********------------**********------------

UMass Amherst students on a short term service trip goofing around with kindergarteners in Lod

 ------------**********------------**********------------

Cultural imperialism at its finest: an Ein Karem, Jerusalem church sporting a snowy pine tree during December

 ------------**********------------**********------------

Lod train station non-existent train platform.

 ------------**********------------**********------------

Overlooking Haifa toward the north

Separate milk and meat microwaves provided by the Haifa Univ. student union in an effort to provide kosher heating for lunch. Nonetheless this system still requires quite a bit of trust in your fellow students...
